A little more about us...
The MEMa Studio is a nonprofit organization committed to exposing underserved youth to an arts education in a recording studio on wheels, housing state-of-the-art music and film technology. Since 2012, the MEMa Studio has been running an arts program serving high school youth on Chicago's South Side.
The Program connects students with industry professionals to conduct music, video production, audio production and career skills workshops, through a program called "Tech-Kno Camp". Tech-Kno Camp 2016 is currently running in conjunction with After School Matters - a non-profit organization that offers Chicago high school teens innovative out-of-school S.T.E.M. activities through nationally recognized Gallery programs.
As an organization, the MEMa Studio has a long term goal to travel throughout North America, and beyond, continuing its mission to offer underserved youth a unique opportunity to learn about entertainment production related to television broadcasting, filmmaking, scriptwriting, songwriting, video recording and postproduction and audio recording and postproduction. We'll talk more about that long term goal in a moment.
For now, take a look around, and you'll see evidence of life changing experiences teens on the South Side of Chicago have been privileged to take part in, with industry professionals
